The Design Year 2005 is a network of
people and organisations all over Finland who are interested in design.
For many of the event organisers, the Design Year signals the beginning of
new collaboration with others in the field of design.
Who can become an event organiser?
Private individuals and
private and public organisations may register as event organisers
(including cities, municipalities, organisations and unions, associations,
schools, fair and conference organisers, businesses and design
professionals). Organisers are in charge of the content, funding and
production of their events.
What kinds of events can be
included in the programme?
Events may have a variety of
content depending on their target audience, perspective and organisers.
The easiest way to approach the matter is to consider how the organisers’
activities are related to design and what new approaches it could offer
when looked at from the viewpoint of design.
Such events include
seminars, courses, fairs, publications, exhibitions, displays, lecture
series, competitions, product launches and open doors events. Events can
be commercial or non-commercial.
If you have an idea, contact us,
even if you have nothing concrete in mind! We can decide together how we
can collaborate on the Design Year.
How to register?
Complete the registration form and send it. When you are approved,
you can register as an event organiser by paying the registration fee to
the bank account of the Finnish Society for Crafts and Design (Nordea
200118-267521, reference number 1300).
The registration fee is 60
euros (0% VAT) for private individuals and non-profit organisations and
400 euros (0% VAT) for others per event. After the payment has been made,
the event will be added to the programme of the Design Year.
Better coverage
A printed event programme will be
published which will include the events of the Design Year 2005. The
events can also be found in the event calendar on the website of the
Design Year.
Information and pictures will be accepted for the
autumn 2005 event programme until 15 April 2005. The autumn programme will
include events that take place from 1 August to 31 December 2005.
Send your event details by email to
Henrikka Tynkkynen and images to
Piritta Hannonen and include the reference ‘Design year/autumn 2005’.
The details of particular events can be updated throughout 2005. Please
remember to inform us should the details of your event change.
How to get the logo of the Design Year 2005?
When you
request a password, you will be given access to the logo of the Design
Year.
Event organisers have the right to use the logo only in
connection with an event they have registered. They must undertake to
observe the graphic guidelines of the logo.
