Design Forum Finland

Design Forum Finland promotes Finnish design. Its purpose is to reinforce the standing of design in the innovation system and to advance affluence and competitiveness in Finland. Its objective is to arouse the interest of the public, markets and consumers in design companies and the products they manufacture. Design Forum Finland promotes Finnish design worldwide and is an opinion leader. Design Forum Finland is maintained by the Finnish Society of Crafts and Design (founded in 1875).

Design Museum

The Design Museum is a national specialised museum that collects and records design. It carries out research, documents current issues in design, and organises exhibitions on the past and present of design.

Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo

The Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo (founded in 1911) is the national central organisation of designers in Finland. Its objective is the improvement of the aesthetic and functional standards of our immediate surroundings. Members of its member organisations work as designers, entrepreneurs, teachers and scholars in the industry, textile, clothing and furniture design, interior design, arts and crafts and art. Ornamo is a lobbyist for its members’ interests, maintains a member register, promotes networking between its members and their mutual collaboration, and acts as an expert body in Finland and abroad.

Ornamo engages in publicity and publishing, exhibition and competition activities and training, and monitors research and training in the field by collaborating with schools, cultural and industrial administration and other organisations.

Finnish Crafts Organization

The organization offers crafts schools, courses, workshops, exhibitions, ready-made products, materials and business services. The Finnish Crafts Organization Taito forms together with 22 Crafts and Arts Associations the Taito Group.

Grafia

Grafia (founded in 1933) is a national association of graphic designers. Its objective is to reinforce the status of Finnish graphic design in industrial and cultural sectors and to promote the professional and cultural know-how of professionals of visual communication. The members of Grafia are communications professionals: graphic designers, designers of marketing communications and media designers, illustrators, designers of book and magazine layout, teachers, scholars and students.

Grafia engages in publicity and publishing, exhibition and competition activities, and training. It monitors the research and teaching of design and collaborates in their promotion with organisations and schools in the field.

The University of Art and Design Helsinki (UIAH) is an international university of design, audiovisual communication, art education and art.
